DCE Pledges to Integrate Disability Priorities into Development Agenda

Mankranso: Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Ahafo Ano South-West District have been assured their concerns will be integrated into the Assembly's development agenda. Mr. Abubakar Sedik, District Chief Executive (DCE), gave the assurance when members of the Ghana Federation of Disability paid a courtesy call on him at Mankranso to congratulate him on his nomination and confirmation.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Sedik stated that the Assembly was committed to promoting inclusivity by ensuring that disability-related issues formed an integral part of its development planning and implementation. He emphasized the Assembly's focus on integrating disability-related priorities into its development agenda to address the challenges faced by all citizens.

Mr. Sedik also highlighted that his administration would welcome suggestions from all stakeholders to help achieve the district's development goals and realize his vision of an inclusive administration. As part of initial interventions, he mentioned a proposal to provide income-generating equipment for PWDs this year and appealed for spiritual and moral support to ensure successful implementation of the Assembly's projects and programmes.

Mr. Agyenim Boateng, District President of the Federation, who led the delegation, expressed gratitude to the DCE for his assurances and hoped for divine guidance in his leadership. He emphasized the challenges faced by PWDs, such as accessibility to public infrastructure and inclusion in local development initiatives, and called for urgent attention and action.
