Adidokpui: A farming community in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region, Adidokpui, has received a mechanised water system from the Qatar Foundation, following a publication by the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
According to Ghana News Agency, the publication, titled 'Adidokpui residents appeal for potable, accessible water,' dated August 10, 2024, has resulted in a positive outcome for the community. The report highlighted the dire need for a clean and accessible water source in Adidokpui, prompting action from the Qatar Foundation.
Ms. Aku-Sika Kpene, the Project Contact Lead Person, extended an invitation to the GNA for the commissioning of the project, scheduled for Sunday, June 8. She expressed appreciation for the original publication, stating, "Daniel, you did a publication on the water crisis in Ziope Adidokpui last year. I lobbied the Qatar Foundation, and they constructed a mechanised borehole, which will be commissioned on Sunday, June 8. I wanted to let you know and invite you to cover it as well."
Mr. Kwaku Agbezudor, the Regent of Adidokpui, who initially led the GNA to the contaminated water source, expressed his joy and excitement over the newly constructed water system in an interview with the GNA. He commended the agency for its role in facilitating the development and acknowledged the impact of the mechanised water system on the community's well-being.
