Accra: The Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of Church of Pentecost Friday donated sporting items valued at 10,000 Ghana Cedis to five basic schools from the Ho Municipality and Adaklu district. The beneficiary schools, which received a set of jerseys and two footballs each, were Ziavi Dzogbe basic school from the Ho Municipality and Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Goefe, Adaklu Dave, and Adaklu Kpogadzi basic schools from the Adaklu district.

According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Frank Tandoh, National Coordinator of SOM, emphasized the Church of Pentecost's focus on instilling strong values in the younger generation. As part of its vision, the Church is collaborating with the Ghana Education Service to foster the holistic development of learners in basic schools. Pastor Tandoh noted that their goal is to win students and pupils at all levels for Christ and to influence campuses and schools with the teachings of the Lord.

This initiative aligns with the Church's broader 'possessing the nations' agenda, which seeks to transform society through Kingdom of God values and principles. Pastor Tandoh highlighted the importance of addressing community needs and using sporting activities to unite young people, thereby spreading the message of Christ.

He expressed confidence that instilling Christ-like values in youth could lead to positive societal transformation in the future. 'We want the young ones today to be the change agents tomorrow, those who will influence and win society for Christ,' he stated. He also urged the heads of beneficiary schools to leverage the donated items not only for recreation but as tools for spiritual engagement with their pupils.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, expressed his appreciation for the Church's gesture and encouraged others to follow their example by addressing both spiritual and physical needs. He affirmed his dedication to the community's growth and development, expressing readiness to collaborate with churches, NGOs, and investors.

Mr. Charles Kugbeadzor, Headteacher of Adaklu Kodzobi basic school, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiary schools to SOM and the Church for their donation. He pledged to utilize sporting activities as a means of bringing pupils closer to Christ.
