Big Push: Construction Works to Begin on Takoradi to Cape Coast Highway Dualisation on Tuesday

Takoradi: President John Dramani Mahama will on Tuesday, October 21, conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the commencement of construction works on the dualisation of the Takoradi-Cape Coast highway. A statement issued by the Presidency said this would form part of activities during the President's one-day working visit to the Western region.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project, captured under the 'Big Push' initiative, was one of the thirty-two major roads listed in the 2025 mid-year budget review. The long-awaited expansion of the corridor forms part of the government's broader national agenda to revamp infrastructure and stimulate economic growth to attract the needed investment for jobs and development of the country.

The statement further mentioned that President Mahama is expected to inspect ongoing expansion and renovation works at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Western Regional Hospital. The infrastructure developments are aimed at improving healthcare and transportation facilities, thereby contributing significantly to the region's overall progress.
