Manso-nkwanta: Asanko Gold Ghana Limited has launched a comprehensive five-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (SEDP) at Manso-Nkwanta in the Amansie West District aimed at boosting socio-economic development in its host communities.
According to Ghana News Agency, the plan is a central component of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda and seeks to address critical developmental challenges in its operational areas, particularly within the Amansie West and Amansie South Districts.
Focused on key areas, including education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment, the SEDP is expected to significantly improve the living conditions of thousands of residents while building lasting partnerships for community progress.
Mr. Ahmed Mohadini-Yahaya, the General Manager of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, speaking at the launch, underscored the company's commitment to ensuring that the benefits of mining extend beyond mineral extraction to positively impact lives at the grassroots level. He emphasized that the purpose is not only to yield returns to shareholders but also to create real, lasting value for the people in the host communities.
Stakeholders at the launch, including the District Chief Executives for the two districts and traditional leaders, expressed their gratitude to Asanko Gold for prioritizing community development in its corporate agenda. They acknowledged the impact the plan would have on reducing poverty, creating jobs, and improving access to essential services across the two districts.
