AME Zion Church Mourns Victims of Ghana Helicopter Crash

Accra: The African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church has mourned the tragic loss of lives in the helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, Right Reverend Dr. Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe, the Presiding Bishop of the AME Zion Church, expressed that the unfortunate event has profoundly affected the nation and caused immense sorrow. In his statement, he extended condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the families and friends of the eight nationals who perished in the accident.

Bishop Dogbe emphasized that the church's thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by the tragedy. He reaffirmed the church's solidarity with the nation in mourning the individuals who sacrificed their lives in service to Ghana. As the country unites in grief, Bishop Dogbe hopes that the memories of the deceased will continue to inspire selfless service to God and the nation.

He cited the psalmist's words, reminding that God serves as a refuge and strength during times of trouble. Bishop Dogbe prayed for divine comfort and healing for the bereaved families and a peaceful repose for the souls of the departed.
