Adutwum Urges Africa to Prioritise Youth Development

Accra: Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, an aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Election 2028, has urged African leaders to prioritise and develop the potential of the continent's growing youth population. "Posterity will not forgive us if we fail to build the potential of the youth to take the leadership of the continent," Dr Adutwum stated in a statement issued by his campaign team.According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Adutwum, a former Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region, offered this advice while addressing a forum of African educators in Accra. He emphasized the importance of investing in the youth, as the future of Africa largely depends on them ascending to leadership positions.The statement also highlighted Dr Adutwum's vision for youth development starting from home and his commitment to economically empower the youth of the NPP party if he is elected as the NPP's flagbearer for the 2028 election. He expressed his broader vision for the youth of the party, recognizing them as the gatekeepers of the NPP and integral to his presidential ambitions.Dr Adutwum urged the party to take proactive steps in empowering and creating opportunities for the youth to contribute meaningfully to the nation's progressive growth and development. He promised to prioritize the welfare of the NPP youth and create an environment conducive to their success.The statement further highlighted Dr Adutwum's significant contributions as a former Minister of Education and MP, particularly in implementing the Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme and advancing STEM education in the nation.
