ZAMPOST to meet full funeral costs for the 54 accident Victims

The Zambia Postal Services Corporation (ZAMPOST) has announced that theywill meet the full funeral costs for the 54 victims of the Chibombo Post bus accident.

Announcing this today February 8 2013, Zambia Postal Services Post Master General McPherson Chanda said that his company and the bereaved families based in Ndola have tentatively agreed to hold a mass burial next week Tuesday.

And the board and management of ZAMPOST have sent a message of condolences to the families of the affected travelers. The company has set up two help lines for victims of the Chibombo accident which left more than 50 people dead.

Meanwhile, Thursday’s accident on the Great North Road is the third worst in the history of the country.

According to the statistics by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) the worst road accident was recorded at Pumula in Kabangwe where 76 people died.

Second was when 56 people died in road disaster in the 1990′s at Kanyongoloka near Luangwa when a UBZ bus overturned.
