President Edgar Lungu is on Monday Feb 6 expected in Botswana for a one-day working visit.
State House says President Lungu will only undertake foreign trips that add economic value to the nation.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda said the new policy of economic diplomacy will see the Head of State undertake trips that benefit Zambians.
Chanda said President Lungu will among other things inspect the Kazungula bridge which is being co-financed by the Zambia and Botswana with his host President Ian Khama.
Chanda has told ZNBC News that the bridge will enhance intra regional trade and ease the movement of people and services in the sub region.
He said the Head of State will return home on Tuesday.
