ZAMBIAN INTERIOR MINISTER ASKED TO BRIEF PARLIAMENT ON KILLINGS IN LUSAKA

LUSAKA, The Speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Matbini, has directed Zambian Minister of Home Affairs (Interior), Stephen Kampyongo, to update Parliament on measures put in place to halt recent killings which have take place in the capital, Lusaka.

Dr. Matibini said here Thursday that the Minister should give a statement on the matter early next week.

He said this in a ruling after Kanyama Member of Parliament Elizabeth Phiri stood on a point of order to question why the Minister of Home Affairs had not issued any statement following the killings in Lusaka.

Phiri pointed out that Lusaka had recorded about four killing in the past week alone.
