ZAMBIAN GOVT PREPARING FOR HANDOVER OF PETROLEUM PRODUCT PROCUREMENT TO PRIVATE SECTOR

LUSAKA- The government is still finalizing preparations to hand over to the private sector the task of procuring of petroleum products for the country.

Minister of Energy Matthew Nkuwa says the government wants to ensure that only the best players in the Industry with proven experience and capacity will be considered to take over the responsibility.

Nkuwa also said that a tender process for such procruements was being formulated and was expected to be announced before the end of this month.

The Minister stated that the government was approaching this matter in a cautious manner to ensure there is no disruption in the supply chain once the shift in procurement is implemented.
