Police in Chipata in Zambia’s Eastern Province have arrested and charged a couple for selling dog meat to members of the public.

Eastern Province Commissioner of Police Alex Chilufya, who confirmed this Tuesday, said the couple had been charged with common nuisance, contrary to the laws of Zambia.

Chilufya has named the couple as Ruth Mwanza, 39, and her husband, Charles Mwanza, 33, of Munga compound.

He said the suspects were last Friday found selling suspected boiled dog meat to members of the public in their area of residence.
