Zambia will continue attracting greater foreign investments – Chenda

ZAMBIA will continue to attract greater foreign investments as investors are beginning to recover from new policies that unsettled them, commerce minister Emmanuel Chenda said yesterday.

And Chenda says all new policy measures introduced by the PF government so far were undertaken in the interest of the country.

Chenda told The Post in an interview that investor confidence in the Zambian economy was building up.

“There is a lot of fear when change comes in. Most of the time it is fear of the unknown and in our case it all begins with the statutory instrument number 33 which banned the quotation of prices in dollars,” he said. “There was so much resistance about that issue but it has quieted down and trade has continued to move and progress positively. And as things stand, businesses are beginning to heal from the policies that we had put in place.
