Zambia: ‘Mummy’s Boy’ – Fisho Banks On Mother’s Inspiration to Win Lusaka Mayoral Race

Lusaka mayoral candidate Fisho Mwale says he is inspired by his mother to serve women and the country at large. In an intimate show of love for his mother, Mwale says a vote for him is a vote for women empowerment.

He proposes setting up old people’s homes as a way of rewarding Zambian elders.

I am so grateful for the support my mother has given me since the time I expressed my interest to contest as independent candidate. My mother has been such an inspiration to me and I am grateful for her loving heart.

She always provides good counsel for me. Out of the respect I have for our women, I will as your non-partisan mayor, ensure that our mothers live and work in a conducive environment suitable for each one of them to excel and be an inspiration to each of us.

Further to this, we must provide a social welfare system where retirement homes run by competent and reputable NGOs are established. This will relieve pressure on child-headed households. We have too many neglected old people in society. A vote for me is a vote for women empowerment.
