Zambia: Congolese Singer Werrason to Grace Agriculture Show

The Agriculture and Commercial Society of Zambia has opted for another Congolese musician to grace this weekend’s event after striking off disgraced Rumba king Koffi Olomide over his battering one of his dancing queen in Kenya.

Olomide has been replaced by another Rumba king Werrason who will be joined by Malawian star Skeffa Chimoto and 11 other local artistes.

The ACSZ had initially stuck with Olomide but once he was deported in Kenya they had to back down and cancel his performances.

Olomide pocketed the US$7, 000 that was down payment for his cancelled show with questions raised over how much local artistes get to walk away with.

The out of favour Olomide had also courted controversy three years ago after he kicked a local photojournalist Jean Mandela who had stepped up a campaign to re-open the assault case that the police suspiciously closed.
