Zambia calls off Jordan game

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has called off the game between its Local National Team and Jordan that was scheduled for this Sunday, November 3, 2013.

FAZ announced today, October 30, 2013 that the International Friendly match will not take place due to the crucial phase the MTN Super League is at and the need for the local players to maximize on time and training so that it is hugely beneficial and valuable for the development of the local squad.

“The league calendar is packed to December and Football House has considered the pleadings of various Super League teams concerning release of some of their key players for this match and the impact it may have on the title race and relegation fight,” FAZ announced. “We have since proposed to our Jordanian counterparts to consider hosting this match at another date.”

FAZ says that process of consultation has since been reopened with Jordan and other stakeholders adding that the nation will be informed of the any further developments regarding the same.

The match between Egypt and Zambia will go ahead on Thursday November 14, 2013 as it falls on the international FIFA match calendar.

FAZ says details of the Chipolopolo’s travel will be unveiled in the coming week after Caretaker Coach Patrice Beaumelle names the Squad.
