WIDOW OF LATE PRESIDENT MICHAEL SATA APPOINTED ZAMBIAN AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE

LUSAKA– Zambian President Edgar Lungu has appointed and sworn in former First Lady Christine Kaseba-Sata as the Ambassador to France.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony here Monday, President Lungu said he has no doubt of Dr. Kaseba-Sata abilities to further strengthen Zambia’s ties with France.

President Lungu said events of the past few weeks regarding some diplomats are already a lesson for Dr. Kaseba-Sata on diplomatic etiquette.

President Lungu also called for sealing of leakages of government information. He told Gabriel Munshya after the latter was sworn in as Public Policy Specialist at the Cabinet Office that he should stick by his oath and ensure government information is safeguarded.

Dr. Kaseba-Sata, the widow of former president Michael Sata has pledged to attract more investments in value addition activities in the country.

She said France is known for high quality food production and strong value addition in the agriculture sector which she says is in line with President Lungu’s diversification drive.
