United Party for National Development Gwembe member of Parliament Brian Ntundu says it is important to support the Patriotic Front (PF) government so that its development agenda succeeds.

The opposition member of Parliament sees nothing wrong with members of Parliament supporting the government of the day as they draw government salaries and allowances.
The outspoken MP said: “It is illogical for MPs not to work with government because it is the same government that pays them salaries and fuel allowances for them to carry out their duties.”
He was speaking yesterday during a Constituency Development Fund (CDF) stakeholders meeting at Munyumbwe Civic Centre.
The MP, who spoke fondly and highly of President Sata, said politics should not be mixed with development.
The MP said the PF government will deliver to the people of Zambia and called on all Zambians to support government in implementing development programmes.
He cautioned UPND Councillors in Gwembe against frustrating Government’s development agenda.
Mr Ntundu observed that UPND councillors are the majority in Gwembe constituency and cautioned them against politicising  development  projects in the district.
Mr Ntundu said the 2013 budget is the best so far as it is activity-based.
He said the PF government is committed to increasing allocations in the CDF to ensure Zambians plan and implement localised development projects.
He called for the proper utilisation of CDF for the benefit of the people of Gwembe.
And Gwembe CDF stakeholders have unanimously proposed to buy road equipment from the just-released K1 billion CDF to improve feeder roads in the district.
Ward councillors, the district commissioner, heads of government departments, district council staff, NGOs, the Church and chiefs were present at the meeting.
