Voting underway in Four By-elections

Voting has opened in the four constituencies of Chipata Central, Mkushi North , Kafulafuta and Solwezi East were electorates are expected to choose their representative.
The voting opened just around 06:00 hours and is expected to come to a close at 18:00 hours.
Voting in most polling stations in the four constitution has opened on a slow note with only a handful of people managing to cast their votes by 07:00 hours.
Correspondence are however saying they expect an increased voter turnout as the day progreses.
Campaigns in these constituencies has generaly been peaceful except for Chipata Central and Solwezi East where some spate of violence has been recorded and this is mainly due to the high competition in these places.
Meanwhile Police has advised voters in the four constituencies to vote peacefully and exercise their rights freely. Deputy Inspector General of Police Solomon Jere says the police service expects violence free by elections in Kafulafuta, Mkushi North, Solwezi East and Chipata Central.
Dr Jere has advised the electorate in the four constituencies to exercise their right to vote freely and enjoy the moment.
The Deputy Police IG was speaking on a ZNBC’s TV2 programme on Wednesday
