UPND wins in Katuba and Chililabombwe

The United Party for National Development has scooped the Katuba parliamentary seat after it’s candidate Jonas Shakafuswa polled 4,695 votes beating his closest rival Moses Chilando of the PF, who polled 2,658 votes.

MMD’s Cecil Holmes trailed on the third position with 646 votes.

The UPND won in all the 32 polling stations in Katuba constituency.

Meanwhile, the UPND has also won Mvula local government seat in
Chililabombwe on the Copperbelt, a province that has been a stronghold of the PF.

UPND candidate Kelly Simukoko got 139 votes and was closely followed by a PF candidate who got 123 votes.

The PF has however won two Ward elections in Wusakile and Mpongwe both on the Copperbelt province.
