We will go ahead and have the rally in Kabwata despite what the Police andthe Government have said about it because we have met all the requirements needed for us to do so the United Party for National Development [UPND] has said.

But the ministry of Home affairs has said the UPND should have themselves to blame for whatever will happen to them if they go ahead and hold the rally.

UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma said in an interview in Lusaka the capital Zambia that his party had met done all that the Police had told them to do for them to be given the permit.

He said following the recent pronouncements from both the Police and the Government,  the party was waiting for the advice from its legal council after which it would make the final decision.

But Home Affairs Public Relations Officer Moses Siwale said in a statement that was made available to the Zambian Eye that the UPND would be holding the rally at their own risk.

He said the Ministry was however aware that the Lusaka District Police Commanding Officer Joyce Kasosa  has invited the UPND leadership to a meeting  which he advised them to attend without fail.
