UPND MP serving as Deputy Minister threatens to revoke licenses from Radio stations hosting opposition leaders

A UPND Member of Parliament who has been appointed into President Michael Sata’s Patriotic Front government is now threatening to revoke licenses from Community Radio hosting opposition leaders.

Poniso Njeulu who is one of the Deputy Ministers at Information sounded the warning today, May 28, 2013 in Chikankata, Southern province when he visited the Community Radio station in the area. Njolo who has been touring Media Houses in Western and Southern provinces said his Patriotic Front government will not hesitate to revoke licenses from Community Radio stations hosting opposition leaders whom he accused of inciting people to raise against government.

Njeulu who is still serving as a UPND Member of Parliament for Sinjembele constituency in Western province said this just two days after Radio Macha, a Community Radio station refused to host UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema on Saturday. The Community Radio station based about 75km North-West of Choma town refused to host Hichilema saying they had no open slot.
