UPND is forming the next govt says Ex-MMD MP Mwale

Former Malambo Constituency Member of Parliament Maxwell Mwale has predicted that the United Party for National Development (UPND) is the next to form government.

Mwale who announced his defection from the former ruling party, Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) to join the UPND said he decided to join the party because political landscape is pointing to them to form the next government.

He said in an interview on Tuesday July 30,2013 that he did not join the UPND to seek protection over his ‘corruption cases.’

Mwale however stated that his court cases are all political charges adding that he is not the only person facing such cases.

The former Minister in the MMD government has however dismissed calls that he has already been adopted to stand under the UPND ticket in the September 5 by-elections.

Mwale said those rumours are false saying he has not been adopted but stated that he wants to stand under the party ticket to defend his seat which was nullified by the Supreme Court.

Mwale on Monday July 29, announced the decsion to ditch the MMD and join the UPND.
