UPND declares to go ahead with rally despite Police ban

UPND has vowed to go ahead with its campaign rally this afternoon despite the Police having refused to grant permit.

Its campaign manager Garry Nkombo who is also Member of Parliament for Mazabuka says the rally scheduled for Zambezi ward to be addressed by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema will go ahead as planned.

“UPND will tomorrow Sunday hold another public rally in Zambezi ward with or without a police permit” Nkombo said.

He explains that  a Zambia Police officer named Mr. Zimba called him to informing him that the party should never hold another rally in Livingstone after one on Saturday which also was cancelled.

The Saturday rally in Maramba still went ahead despite the police ban. President Michael Sata was in Livingstone on Saturday where he addressed a rally and urged the people to vote for PF if they want development in the area. He also alleged that HH had bought PF chitenge material to fake defections at one of his rallies.
