UNWTO: Focus on logistical preps

ZAMBIA and Zimbabwe have continued making progress in preparing for the co-hosting of the 20th session of the 2013 United Nations World Tourism  Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly.

The event, which would attract several delegates across the globe, would be held in Livingstone and Victoria Falls Town from August 24 to 29, 2013 under one destination called the Victoria Falls.

To start with, the UNWTO General Assembly is held every two years and attended by delegates of the full and associate members as well as representatives from the business council.

The General Assembly is the most important meeting of senior tourism officials and high-level representatives of the private sector from all over the world.

Other international organisations participate as observers  and most countries travel with their media delegates drawing to the General Assembly host country more than 1, 000 visitors.
