There is no funding to run the party – PF Constituency Chairman

Mbabala Constituency Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson says lack of funding from the party is making difficult to organize the party in the constituency, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

Mbabala PF Chairperson Jacob Kangumbe said the party does not fund them with activities that can help expand its popularity in the area.

He also showed lack of trust to the District Executive as he alleged them of hiding some funds meant for Mbabala Constituency.

Kangumbe said some party officials have started losing hope in the party as they have sacrificed more than what they have gained, he also revealed that some PF candidates used their own resources to campaign for the party during the 2011 general elections but still the party has not considered them for jobs.

He said it will be difficult for the party to out stand the popularity of the opposition UPND in the area if top authorities keep on swindling funds meant to help the party win a political mileage in Mbabala constituency.

The Constituency Chairman said more leaders from other political parties were willing to join the party had it not been luck of funds.

”Some of us are serious with party duties but my fellow leaders at the district level are hiding funds meant for my constituency,” complained Kangumbe.

He further accused Mbabala UPND Member of Parliament Ephraim Belemu of being selfish in implementing projects as he does not consult the grassroot for some projects.

He said some wards like Macha ward have a water crisis but the lawmaker was not doing anything to address the problem. He charged that despite the fact that some road equipments were bought to rehabilitate some feeder roads in the constituency but roads are still in the bad state.

Kangumbe said most of the people who sit on the CDF committee are UPND cadres who just follow the MP’s directives hence the low developmental activities going on in the constituency.
