Police at Delmas recovered a stolen motor vehicle and arrested one suspect while another managed to get away. This follows events which unfolded yesterday, 14 April 2017, during the day when the complainant, a local lady parked her vehicle at one well known chain store parking area, then went shopping. When she returned, her vehicle was missing from where she last parked it. The matter was then reported to the police and working together with concerned community members, they managed to track the vehicle earlier today at about 09:00, parked at a certain house at the nearby Botleng Township. On arrival, the police found one suspect inside the car and he was arrested while another, who was also at the premises, managed to run away.

The arrested suspect (25) is expected to appear before the Delmas Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 April 2017, facing a charge of theft of motor vehicle. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma appreciated the speedy recovery of the vehicle and attributed it to a good working relationship between the police and the community.
