Sudanese Protesters Stone Convoy After Rebel Attack

Hundreds of protesters in Sudan’s North Kordofan state stoned a government convoy after accusing government officials of failing to protect them from a rebel strike a day earlier.

About 300 youths gathered in the town of Um Rawaba to protest a visit by governor Murghani Hussein Zaki-Adeen who came to inspect the town following Saturday’s attack.

The crowd also set fire to several local government buildings.

No injuries or serious damage were reported in either of the incidents.
