The Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of DISPUTE (SACCORD) has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to sit down with the United Party for National Development (UPND) for a clear explanation of its Mapatizya formula.

SACCCORD acting executive director Boniface Cheembe says it is imperative that the nation is explained to on what the formula to be used by the opposition UPND in the forthcoming by-elections is all about.

Mr. Cheembe says it will not help the country in any way to merely speculate on whether the method is peaceful or violent.

Speaking to QFM in an interview, Mr. Cheembe says the ECZ should take it upon itself and dialogue with political parties whenever there are counter accusations of possible electoral misconduct.
