Senegalese Peacekeepers Killed in Darfur

The United Nations said three peacekeepers from Senegal have been killed in Sudan’s West Darfur region.

The joint U.N.-African Union Mission in Darfur, UNAMID, said an armed group ambushed a police unit Sunday as the unit escorted a water convoy to the mission’s regional headquarters.

It said one other peacekeeper was injured, and the assailants hijacked a vehicle that was later recovered.
