Cease fire, North PF drops suspension of Kasama Officials

The Patriotic Front (PF) Provincial Executive Committee in Northern Province has with immediate effect lifted the suspension of acting Kasama District Chairperson, Caleb Monta and three others in Kasama.

The trio includes Provincial Vice Treasurer, Wedson Sinkololwe, Kasama District Youth Information and Publicity Secretary, Jackson Simutenda, and Kasama District Women Information and Publicity Secretary, Ireen Chitongo.

Announcing the lifting of the suspensions, Regional Secretary, Evarist Chela, said the move was aimed at bringing unity in the party.

The Regional Secretary said the provincial executive decided to lift the suspensions slapped on the four in order for the two parties to work together in fostering development in the region.

Mr. Chela said the decision was arrived at in a meeting attended by the provincial and district officials to resolve their differences. The Regional Secretary observed that the suspensions came about due to poor communication among the party officials.

He urged officials to continue working together as a family in fighting the opposition.

And Kasama District Chairman, Caleb Monta, expressed satisfaction that the suspension which was unsuspected has been lifted.

Recently, there have been a lot of misunderstandings amongst PF members in Kasama on the endorsement of President Michael Sata as a sole candidate for Presidency in the 2016 general elections which led to some officials being suspended for supporting the matter.
