Sata unveils Chongwe roads, varsity projects

PRESIDENT Michael Sata yesterday commissioned yet another milestone road project in Chongwe District with a pledge to continue stimulating investment countrywide.
The Head of State also launched the construction of Chalimbana University in the same district and directed the Ministry of Education to establish secondary schools in all the chiefdoms which will provide institutional support to the newly-established universities.
At a colourful ceremony in Chongwe, the President commissioned the construction of the 61 kilometre stretch that will link Chalimbana to Chirundu through Chiawa, which is part of the multi-million Kwacha Link-Zambia 8,000 Project.
Mr Sata said the project would also help Lusaka expand eastwards, hence the need to ensure the road projects were embarked on.
“Lusaka should grow heading east and to attract investors. We need these road projects and like we promised, we will continue on these projects for the benefit of the people.
