President Michael Sata says he is deeply saddened at the passing of Evelyn Hone College media studies lecturer Mutemwa Makomani who died in Mongu’s Lewanika General Hospital on Sunday.

In his letter of condolences to the late Makomani’s mother Mrs. Regina Makazo Makomani, President Sata described Mr. Makomani’s death as a great loss to the media industry.

“It is with a profound sense of shock and sadness that I have learned of the untimely death of your dear son, Mr. Mutemwa Makomani. I am deeply saddened for this loss and share your sorrow during this period of great difficult. On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Zambia and indeed on my own behalf, I convey our innermost condolences to you and the entire Makomani family,” President Sata said.

“The late Mr. Makomani will be remembered as a rare breed and highly valuable media trainer whose contribution to the media industry in this country deserves commendation. Indeed, he will be solely missed by many who knew him especially the multitudes of journalists he taught right through his career.

“During this period of enormous pain, we show compassion with you and join in prayerful reflection, and beseech the Almighty God to grant your family solace and fortitude to bear this great loss. May the soul of your dear son rest in eternal peace,” said President Sata in a message also issued by his Press Secretary George Chellah.
