Sata in Solwezi: You vote for opposition then forget about development

President Michael Sata has told the people of North Western Province that they will not see development if they do not vote for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) candidate in the forthcoming by-elections.

Addressing a public rally at Kasapa School ground in Solwezi East constituency on Tuesday, July 16, 2013  where he had gone to drum up support for PF candidate, Peter Illunga in the July 25 parliamentary by-election, President Sata said they will not see development if they continue voting for the opposition.

He said the people in the province have chosen to have opposition Members of Parliament who have not developed the area. He warned the people in the province that they will continue suffering if they continue to vote for the opposition.

President Sata has since asked the people of Solwezi East to vote for the PF candidate who he said will ably represent them saying he will be withdrawn from parliament if he fails to deliver.

The President who also addressed another rally at Mushindamo School also reminded the people to vote for Illunga for them to see development in the area. He further thanked the people of Solwezi and Zambians as a whole for voting him in office in the 2011 election.

The President said he was grateful that Zambians have entrusted him with leadership having also served as MP and Minister during the  Kaunda and Chiluba governments.The July 25, Solwezi East by elections were as as result of the resignation of MMD MP Richard Taima who joined the PF although he was left out in the selection of candidates.

UPND has fielded in Ville Lombanya while UNIP has Cephas Luwaile as its candidate for the elections.
