Sata drumming up support for Magani in Chipata

President Michael Sata is today Saturday July 20, 2013 in Chipata to drumming up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate in the Chipata Central Constituency parliamentary by elections.

The President is expected first visit Ephendukeni Palace to pay a courtesy call on Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people.

President Sata is later expected to address a rally in Dilika ward at Mchini market mid-morning and will address another rally at afternoon in Kapata ward at Mpezeni park.

The President is expected to return to Lusaka after  soon after addressing the public meetings.

This is according to a programme released by Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Bert Mushala obtained by Zambian Eye.

The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court nullified the election of MMD’s Mutolo Phiri who is also recontesting the seat on the former ruling party ticket.

Lameck Mangani is contesting the seat on the PF ticket, Kazembe Daka on NAREP, Elina Nyirenda on UNIP while Penelop Nkunika is standing as an independence
