Sata Calls Catholic Priest Fr Bwalya a Thief

President Micheal Sata yesterday used derogatory remarks to call popular Catholic priest Father Frank Bwalya a thief saying he was a Fr Sakalanyongo [Fr Thief].

In what President Sata displayed as light moment, he indirectly let out his first public attacks on the Fr Bwalya during an interdenominational thanksgiving church service.

Fr Bwalya recently quick his post as Zesco board chairman and directed his attacks at President Sata style of management after helping him win the 2011 general elections.

The priests resignation has unsettled the ruling party whose popularity in its stronghold on the Copperbelt has undeniably collapsed while Fr Bwalya’s presence is on the upswing.

During the week, President Sata organised some old men he paraded before state media as former Freedom Fighters to castigate Fr Bwalya while his ministers like Chishimba Kambwili and Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba are calling the religious leader a mad man.
