President Michael Sata has now appointed Livingstone Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Lawrence Evans as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Arts.

Evans replaces David Phiri who resigned from MMD as MP for Mkaika Constituency in Eastern province. He joined PF and re-contested the seat but was badly hammered (9 – 1) by MMD in a by-election.

Evans is the only Member of Parliament for PF in Southern province and his appointed long expected especially that President Sata has been appointing MPs from opposition in areas where he says he has no representation in Parliament.
