Sakeni does don’t kubeba on President Sata’s whereabouts, urges nation not to speculate

Chief Government Spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni says there is no need for the nation to speculate the whereabouts of President Michael Sata.

Sakeni told ZNBC Saturday evening that President Sata was well without disclosing where he is. He said President Sata needs time to himself to reflect and rest.

The whereabouts of the Zambian leader are not known from the time he left Ethiopia on Tuesday January 29, 2013 where he was attending an AU Summit.

The President did not arrive in a Presidential Challenger Jet with the entourage that accompanied him to the AU Summit. An Online News Publication has however reported that the President went to London and later proceeded to India where he is receiving treatment for prostate cancer and heart problems.

There has been calls by the opposition that Government informs the nation the whereabouts of the President. The opposition says it is important for Zambians to know where President Sata is.

But government only responded today through Sakeni who says there is no need to panic because the country has an Acting President. Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda who is the Uncle to President Sata was left to Act as President when the former left the country for the AU.

Normally a statement is issued when the President is leaving State House whether on state function or private.
