Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu says records at the Registrar of Societies show that Former President Rupiah Banda is Movement for Multiparty Democracy [MMD] President.
Lungu says that the records further show that Katele Kalumba is still party Secretary General while Michael Mabenga is still National secretary while Jeff Kande is his deputy.

Lungu says records also show MMD President Nevers Mumba as Reform Party President.
He says there would therefore be nothing wrong if he decided to deregister the Party as most of the things about it were currently not right.
He has since called on the MMD leadership to put their house in order to avoid facing the wrath of the law.
He says the current behavior that was being exhibited by the MMD poised a serious Danger to multipartism because the opposition party members were killing their own party.
But MMD president Nevers Mumba says it is not true that the names of the party leaders had changed because the names were changed last May in 2012.
He has since accused Lungu of playing political tricks on his party.
