Ruling in defilement of twin stepdaughters case set for May 6

THE Mpulungu Magistrates’ Court has set May 6, 2013 as the date for ruling in a case where twin sisters were allegedly defiled and later impregnated by their stepfather.

This is a matter in which Mike Simukanzye of Malisheni village in Mpulungu is charged with defilement of his 14-year-old twin stepdaughters contrary to section 138 of CAP 87 of the Laws of Zambia as read with Act number 12 of 2011.

After being impregnated by Simukanzye, the twin sisters had to undergo a caesarian section at Mbala General Hospital following complications with their pregnancies due to their tender age.

It is alleged that Simukanzye had unlawful carnal knowledge of the two girls on different unknown dates but between January and June, last year.

One of the twins narrated that her stepfather repeatedly defiled her in a family garden for one week .

The girl said she complained of abdominal pains several times when she had sex with her stepfather but he ignored her complaint.
