David Moyes has finally put to rest rumours that Rooney was leaving Old Trafford. Moyes, who made his first public appearance on Friday from the time he succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson, stated clearly that Rooney was contented at the club and was not leaving.
“Wayne Rooney is not for sale. He’s a Manchester United player and will remain a Manchester United player. Wayne won’t be sold by Manchester United,” the former Everton boss said.

At the end of the season this year, Ferguson hinted that the 27-year-old striker had asked to leave. Rooney has been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.
Moyes declared that all his efforts were now going into improving Rooney’s condition and form for club and country, with the player hoping to feature for England at the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Whether Manchester would sign their old hero Cristiano Ronaldo, Moyes refused to comment, saying he cannot talk about players for other clubs.
