Zambian Coach Herve Renard has dumped the Chipolopolo job and has been offered a job by a French Club  – FC Sochaux which is in the top league in France.

This follows a successful interview where Renard was interviewed last week with two other Coaches. Renard whose contract with Zambia ends next year indicated last week that he would be glad to coach the French Club.
The Frenchman who won the Country the first ever Africa Cup trophy in 2012 had hinted that if he fails to qualify Zambia he would quit the job. Renard who was highly sensitive to criticism said Zambians will only appreciate him when he leaves the country.
And Football Association of Zambia has confirmed Renard’s move to join the French Club. FAZ announced Monday, October 7, 2013 that the Association has since released the Frenchman.
“We hereby announce the release of Herve Renard from the job of National coach of the Zambian National Football Team. The 2012 Nations Cup winning coach has been offered a wonderful opportunity at FC Sochaux in the top league in France,” said FAZ Spokesperson Eric Mwanza.
Mwanza said FAZ and Renard have talked and agreed that he leaves adding that the Association could not stand on the Coach way. He said It is a compliment for a Coach working in Africa to be head-hunted by a top European Club.
“It makes us proud to be able to take ownership of Herve’s rise as a successful International Coach” Mwanza said. “FAZ wishes to thank Renard for his dedication to duty, hard work, proficiency and wish him well as he takes up his new coaching job.”
The FAZ Spokesperson said following the departure of Renard, Assistant Coach Patrice Beaumelle will take charge of the Chipolopolo starting with the International assignment against Brazil in Beijing next week Tuesday October 15, 2013.
