Reflect on selflessness this Easter, Chomba urges leaders

BISHOP Edward Chomba says leaders at every level of governance must use the Easter period to seriously reflect on the importance of selflessness and the renewed hope that the risen Jesus Christ comes with.

In his Easter message, Bishop Chomba, a US-based Orthodox Bishop in charge of the Archdiocese of Eastern States and All Africa, said political leaders must use this period to reflect and be selfless in executing duties with diligence and a spirit of servitude to those that elected them.

He said those that aspire to become leaders must also humble themselves and adopt a character that inspires and gives people hope.

“There is need to exemplify tolerance, forgiveness and maturity even as you speak for the constituencies whose interest you govern or wish to govern. Reflect and learn that those who govern should not hate.
