United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has been challenged to prove his malpractice allegations in Mpongwe and Livingstone, ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary by-elections.

Yesterday Hichilema accused the ruling Patriotic Front of engaging in election malpractices ahead of the Mpongwe and Livingstone central by-elections.

But Livingstone PF campaign Chairman Obvious Mwaliteta told the Zambian Eye in an interview that Hichilema must give the people enough proof of the malpractice instead of saying things which he cannot prove.

Mwaliteta said the PF was a very strong party which depended on its hard work to win elections and not on malpractice.

He said Hakainde knew that his party had already lost the By-election and was already trying to find a reason for failing to win.
Meanwhile the PF has refuted allegations by the Opposition parties taking part in the Mpongwe and the Livingstone by-election that it is engaging in electoral malpractices.

Copperbelt PF Youth Chairman Menyani Zulu says the PF had no time to go round buying votes because it strongly believed in the people’s right to choose leaders of their choice.

Zulu says the PF had enough support from the people and would win the two By elections without fail.
