Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex in the United Kingdom (UK), has arrived in Zambia for a two day working visit.

The Prince arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 06:05 hours today aboard a British airways flight and was welcomed by Sports Deputy Minister Stephen Masumba and other senior government officials.

Others at hand to welcome the Prince were British High Commissioner to Zambia James Thornton and other members of the diplomatic mission accredited to Zambia.

The Prince was then taken off to the residence of the British High Commissioner to Zambia James Thornton and he is expected to address the staff this morning.

He is also expected to pay a courtesy call on acting President Alexander Chikwanda and later preside at the Africa Gold Award Presentation Ceremony at Government complex with Vice President Guy Scott.

Prince Edward is the third son and fourth youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom./ ZANIS
