President Sata opens Parliament, says PF has scored

President Micheal Sata has said that the PF government will continue upholding the rule of law in the country.

Speaking when he officially opened the third session of the eleventh national assembly, this morning (Friday ) President Sata said his government has no intentions whatsoever to turn Zambia into a one party state.

The President also assured Zambians, that a final draft constitution will be ready by the end of this year, saying that there could be no government without a constitution.

President Sata also said that fighting corruption is one of the top priorities of the PF government adding that government will work hard to strengthen the operations of Anti- Corruption Commission by way of decentralizing the commission, if corruption is to be fought effectively.

President Sata further said that his government has scored a lot of success for the two years that it has been in power, in both economic and social sectors.

In education sector President Sata said the Pf government has managed to construct Universities and more Universities are under construction.

He said the PF will continue to construct Universities in the country in order to decongest the three public Universities in the country.

He added that government has managed to complete the construction of 32 secondary schools, out of the 84 secondary schools that it had planned to construct.

He said government will complete the construction of the 52 other remaining secondary schools and staff houses especially in the rural areas in  2014

He said apart from secondary schools, the PF government will embark on the construction of vocation canters in  all parts of the country in order to impart youths with skills thereby trying to reduce youth unemployment in the country.

On health, President Sata said the PF government had managed to construct about 136 health posts across the country.

He said government is committed to direct health care services closer to the people especially those in rural areas.

The President said 200 cancer diseases hospitals will be constructed by the end of this year, saying that the PF government will also going to train medical personnel to work in the cancer hospitals.

He said the PF government has further embarked on the modernization of University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, Ndola central hospital and Kitwe central hospital on the Copperbelt province in a bid to ensure effective health service delivery.

On Agriculture President Sata said government is going to recapitalize Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia so as increase the production of fertilize in the country hence increase food security in the country.

He added that government is also committed to ensuring that more dams are constructed in the country and further promote irrigation farming.
