Zambia’s leader Michael Sata is in South Africa to attend today’s official opening ceremony of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in starting off today in Johannesburg.

President Sata is among the dignitaries invited to the continent biggest football gala to be officially opened by that country’s President, Jacob Zuma.

The Zambia National Team commonly known as Chipolopolo Boys are defending the trophy which they won for the first time in 2012 in Gabon, West Africa.

President Sata is also expected to visit the Chipolopolo in Nelspruit and give the team some morale before they face Ethiopia in the opening Group C match on Monday.

The official opening of the ceremony starts at 3pm an hour before the host Bafana Bafana take on first Cape Verde at Soccer City Stadium.
