Police exhume Levy’s embalmer

POLICE officers exhumed the remains of late president Levy Mwanawasa’s embalmer and Chosen Heritage Funeral Home proprietor, Dr Arthur Banda, about a month ago following a recent report made over the manner in which he died about two years ago, it has been learnt.

But a family source has told The Post that those that requested for the exhumation of Dr Banda’s remains acted out of insincerity.

Police public relations officer Elizabeth Kanjela said in an interview yesterday that the results from the autopsy examination that was carried out by officers from the Zambia Police headquarters were not yet out.

“I am told, yes, they had to do that but the results are not yet out for them to release the findings,” said Kanjela when asked about the exhumation that was carried out sometime last month.

Kanjela said they were forced to exhume Dr Banda’s remains longafter he had been buried following a report that was made to the police over his demise.
