PF Youth leader Kamba released on bail

Kennedy Kamba has pleaded not guilty in the Lusaka Magistrate Court to one count of proposing violence and has since been released on bail.

Kamba who was arrested detained Wednesday, November 13, 2013 after being charged with one count of proposing violence appeared before a Lusaka Magistrate Court Thursday morning.

Magistrate Obbister Musukwa who is presiding on the case granted Kamba a K3000 cash bail with two working sureties.

This was after his lawyer Abraham Mwansa applied for the bail when the case was adjourned to November 28, 2013. Mwansa contended to the court that Kamba be given a bail as he is of a fixed abode and holds a position of Youth chairman for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Lusaka province.

The lawyer told the Court that Kamba would be available anytime he is required to by the court.

Kamba is alleged to have proposed violence without lawful excuse on November 7, 2013 which recorded one death and several injuries when two warring PF factions clashed in Lusaka.
