PF continues getting MMD MPs: Mkushi MP quits MMD

Another MMD Member of Parliament Musonda Mutale for Mkushi Central constituency has resigned from the party to join the ruling Patriotic Front. This means that the country will have to hold a by-election in the area within 90 days.

Mutale in his letter of resignation states that after a careful thought he has decided to resign from MMD with immediate effect and join the PF which says would help him develop Mkushi Central. He has since notified the Speaker of the National Assembly to declare the seat vacant.

The MMD confirmed the development through their Director of Communication Muhabi Lungu in the Office of the party president.

MMD MPs are quickly leaving the party to join the PF in what political observers say a tactic to attain numbers in Parliament so that the ruling party can turn the country to a one-party-state type of governance.

The country is yet to hold by-elections in Solwezi East, Feira and Chipata Central constituencies.
